HOW TO: DEVELOP A NEW HEALTHY HABIT.
Out with the old habits, in with the new healthy habits.

Hello Glow Beauties!
So we all know that New Year is right around the corner (Thank Goodness) so why not start new healthy habits? Our health is the most important thing in our lives. Unfortunately, far too many of us are resistant to change, resistant to stepping out of our comfort zones. After all we are creatures of habit. Researchers say it takes 21 days to form a habit. For most people (like me) it can be longer. It takes courage and effort in order to maintain your healthy habit. Here's a few habits I want to improve myself and hopefully it's beneficial to you.
1. DRINK LEMON WATER.
I was never a fan of drinking water. Like I would literally try to fight you if you were to bring me a glass of water. lol Okay not really. I started a 30 day lemon water challenge back in April, I say lemon water because I couldn't stand how bland water tasted and also the benefits of lemon water is A M A Z I N G. I noticed when I was drinking pop and juice I had skin problems, my face was dry as hell and unpleasant. I didn't believe it at first, but week after week my face started to seem more hydrated and clear. So I made the switch to drink only lemon water, I cut out all the pop and juice. It was a drastic change for me but I picked up a great healthy habit. I experienced numerous benefits. Now I take my water drinking ritual to another level. When I wake up the first thing I do before even brushing my teeth is get a glass of cold fresh lemon water. Before each meal I'll drink a full glass of lemon water just to help me get full before I get full, after each meal I'll have another glass of water. Sometimes when I think I'm hungry I really don't be, I actually be thirsty as hell and don't even know lol lemon water will solve that real quick. I also have a glass of water before I go to bed. I go for the water that has the highest pH balance not that tap water shit!
Why Lemons?
Regular water is good for you but lemon water is way better. For starters it boosts the immune system, regulates blood pressure- since I have extremely high blood pressure my doctor told me that one lemon per day reduces high blood pressure by 10% so I make sure I drink my water. Lemons also aids in digestion which means it flushes out your toxins, cleanses the liver (You will be going to the bathroom a lot), keeps your skin blemish free and many other benefits like having that coota momma smelling & feeling good. Ladies, get with it.
2. THINK POSITIVE.
Negative thinking is a bad habit of the mind. I don't know about y'all but when I start thinking negatively most of the time I try to just push that shit out my head and forget about it, that shit just backfire on my ass and makes things worst. Im getting into the habit of trying a different approach, something that will clear up that negative thinking. You have to decide that you don't want to feel shitty, that will help you work through the negativity to find your happy place. Journal it out. When I'm upset best believe I'm writing that shit down. For me that helps me understand my emotions and the reason why I felt that way. Start asking yourself empowering and inspiring questions like: What's my vision for the day? What kind of mood I want to be in? Take the time to listen to your emotions, something I've come to realize the real power of making little changes is in our thoughts. Positive thinking yields positive results. As I continue to implement positive thinking in my life by changing negative thoughts, the more I have noticed changes in my mood and overall happiness. Think positive on a daily basis and it will come natural to you.
3. SELF-CARE.
I'm a firm believer that self-care is an essential part of life itself physically, mentally, and emotionally. You owe yourself the love that you freely give to other people who maybe don't appreciate it so why not give yourself the same care and attention? Self-care is all about YOU! Sounds selfish af but its not at all. When I self-care I'm by myself no kids, no friends, just me. Either I'm binge watching my favorite shows on #Netflix, yoga (I'm horrible at it), indulging in my favorite snack, dancing naked, sleeping, and the list goes on. Don't be afraid to do things for yourself. Reinvent yourself, restore yourself! Because you deserve it.
4. LET THE PAST GO.
Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be. No matter how bad we want to, we can't change the past. It's easy to get sucked into worrying about what happened in the past but it's important to focus on the future. I have a hard time with this because I hold on to a lot of my past that I need to let go. Lately I have been working on new habits on letting go of my past. Write down your feelings. I know I express this writing thing a lot but I swear it works wonders for me. I think about something that is hard for me to let go and I write down exactly what I feel, I relive that moment and I focus on my emotions. Heres the fun part- after I write everything down I take a lighter and I set that bitch on fire. I mean you can throw it away or rip it into tiny pieces but I feel powerful when I burn it lol. I do this with every situation that is hard for me to let go. By doing this I gradually learned how to forgive and to remember situations without negative emotions.
There are many ways to start a healthy habit, I just listed a few that I want to work and improve on. Good habits are as addictive as bad habits. You'll never change your life until you change something you do daily. You have to stay motivated in order to keep your habit going. Thanks for reading, until next time chio!
